Hudson was born in Los Angeles, California, the daughter of the Academy Award-winning actress Goldie Hawn and Bill Hudson, an actor, comedian and musician.Her parents divorced when she was 18 months old . She and her brother who was an actor, Oliver Hudson, were raised in Snowmass, Colorado, and Pacific Palisades, California by the mother of her and her longtime boyfriend, actor Kurt Russell.Hudson's origins are Italian (from her maternal grandmother), Hungarian Jewish (from her maternal grandmother),and the rest of her family is a mix of English as well as some German.She was born Jewish and, like her mother she also practice Buddhism.Hudson has said that her biological father "doesn't know her from a crack in the wall", and she considers Russell as her father.Hudson has stated that her mother is "the one I've learned the most from, and also the one I admire as someone who's led her life in a way that I can look up to". Hudson has four brothers and sisters: Zachary Hudson and Emily Hudson, her biological father's second marriage to actress Cindy Williams; Lalania Hudson and Wyatt Russell, her mother's relationship with Wyatt Russell, her mother's. She was admitted to New York University but decided to pursue acting instead of studying for a degree.
